New Merch, New Shopping Trip

This last week I spent shopping and endlessly spending my paycheck in useless places, even though you can never have too many clothes. This shopping trip I stopped by Ragstock, Crossroads Trading Company, Urban Outfitters, & Buffalo Exchange.

I generally can find items at these stores for reasonably priced. As you can tell below, rompers and overalls are perfect transitional pieces, as we transition from winter to spring. Florals and lace are also making a statement this season, especially on the runway. Girly accents, such as lace and floral, are a great way to make a cute statement this season.

Similarly, t-shirt dresses and slip dresses are also in this season. T-shirt dresses and slip dresses are easy to layer, and work as great layering pieces for the colder Spring days.

Additionally, platform shoes are taking the stages of many runway shows and are being manufactured by brands, such as DIVIDED and Steve Madden. Puma and Rihanna even teamed up recently, creating a brand of platform creeper sneakers.

A bomber jacket is an absolute must this season. Bomber jackets are sold everywhere currently, and you do not want to skip out on a chance to miss out on this amazing, timeless trend.

Sweaters and jackets are always a must-have, as we transition. Similarly, fringe is making a comeback this season and you would be silly not to find yourself a fringe jacket. A simple fringe jacket can make such a statement, even paired with a simple outfit.

Of course, nude tones are in, explaining the nude baseball cap and nude sweater. This season focuses on minimalist street wear, all while simultaneously making a subtle statement. Nude and flesh tones are great, as you can pair them with just about anything.

Lastly, embellished vintage belts are sold online and off-line in stores nationwide. The embellishment and vintage feel of the belts provide a casual, yet chic statement. It does not matter whether or not your outfit is bland, embellished belts will assist in dressing up many outfits, while making a subtle statement. Wearing embellished belts with basics, such as my black high-waisted pants, creates a timeless look that can be completed with any basics.

Basics are also making a great comeback, still insinuating the idea behind a minimalist look this season. This can be easy achieved with basics that with cutouts, distressing, etc. Basic tees are essential this season, as this season focuses on a relaxed, yet put together look.

Olive You So Much

Olive green is making an epic comeback this Spring. Go green in more than one way.

Tops, bottoms, playsuits, jumpsuits, bodysuits, dresses, jackets, shoes, and even accessories, such as hats and scarves, have even been found manufactured by major retail stores. Similarly, Fenty x Puma, Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel and Versus Versace all displayed stunning olive green pieces and accessories. At this year’s New York Fashion Week, Versus Versace, in particular, debuted olive green lace-up boots, strappy sandals, purses, and sunglasses, during their runway show.

Specifically, Steve Madden and Addidas have both released a variety of styles of shoes in this deep tone, which are both picture below.

For more affordable prices, worldwide retail stores, such as ASOS, Tobi, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and Steve Madden, carry olive green pieces in all different styles. Essentials for this upcoming spring definitively include olive green, making it one of the most popular go-to color for the Spring and Summer.

Olive green is a versatile color and a great way to accent your outfit. The army green looks great when the green is complimented with any black, or dark wash, or nude tones.

Olive green is the new black. The army green, or kale green, is ideal for outerwear in particular, as army green military-style jackets and trench coats have been “in” since this past Fall.

Olive Green can be worn during all seasons. However, olive green more specifically works well in the Spring and the Fall, making it one of the most versatile hues.

This color can be worn dressed up or down. Most designers have taken a grungier approach to their green pieces, adding a tough, military-esque vibe.

At this year’s New York Fashion Week, spring/summer 2017 runway shows were filled with olive green pieces, specifically coats, bomber jackets, and trench coats, in the color olive green.

Deep hues, such as olive green, are captivating against all skin tones, making it a versatile color palette customized for all skin tones. Everyone from light to dark can feel beautiful in this color.

It seems as though the olive green is here to stay, even past Saint Patrick’s Day. Post-Saint Patrick’s Day and post-New York Fashion Week, olive green, or kale, made several appearances all over the runways.

Salvatore Ferragamo showed off his perspective on the trend with a fitted and flared scalloped dress, and included an olive green trench coat to tie the look in.

Similarly, Altuzarra debuted a dazzling trench coat in the army green color that is just so desirable this season.

To think that New York Fashion Week was centered around the green color palette is silly, however, even Balmain debuted an olive green ensemble, with an olive green trench coat, and a sheer, and flowy two-piece dress.

Not only does this trend look good on every individual, but it also symbolizes nature and the healthy lifestyle that comes with Spring and Summer. So, as you prepare for your Summer body, olive your green.

What’s Your Nude Tone?

Tonal nudes are making an epic comeback this Spring. Whether you dress it up or dress it down, flesh tones are making appearances in fashion outlets everywhere and magazines, such as NYLON. NYLON’s March 2017 issue celebrates the “diversity of flesh-tone fashion” (NYLON).

Flesh-tones can be worn up or down, making it one of the most versatile color palette for designer labels, such as, Hood By Air, Stella McCartney, Prada, and Simone Rocha. All these designers featured nude tones in their most recent collections.

Nude tones are some of the most used colors this season for all pieces of clothing and accessories, including jumpsuits, bomber jackets, slip dresses, pant suits, shoes and trench coats. Adding a simple, tonal flesh-tones are a great way to accent your next outfit. Flesh-tone colors can also be worn by all skin tones, which is remarkable, making it versatile for all individuals.

In 2012, nude tones became such a hit that Christian Louboutin even released a whole line of nude pumps for every skin tone. In addition, flesh-tones were featured all over runways during 2012, especially during autumn and winter.

Nudal tones serve as a timeless color palette, always featured on runways every season. There is something about these tonal hues that makes it flattering on all skin tones and for all seasons. This season’s street wear should feature lots of nude tones, which is a perfect way for one to achieve a timeless, chic look, with an effortless, subtle vibe.

Lilly Sarti did an excellent job, featuring nude tones and earthy all over her Spring and Summer 2017 collection. Sarti featured nudal tones in jumpsuits, dresses, etc., emphasizing how versatile this up-and-coming trend is.

The whole Kardashian-Jenner clan has jumped on this trend, often sporting nude two-piece dresses and midi-length body fitting dresses.

At La Peria’s Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection party in Milan, model and fashion icon Kendall Jenner was caught busting out her nudes, wearing a plunging nude bodysuit, with silk satin nude tone skinny jeans and a nude tone cropped fur jacket.

Quit hiding your nudes and break them out this season! There’s nothing to be ashamed of.
