Flower Power

April showers bring May flowers, right? GET READY TO HIT THE STREETS WITH THE NEWEST FLOWERS ON THE BLOCK. Just like the flowers are getting ready to bloom, you need to get ready to begin blooming in on this trend.

Florals are in and here to stay, whether you like bold floral designs, minimal floral designs, dark floral designs, light floral designs, colorful floral designs – they are all here to stay.

This year’s Spring/Summer 2017 runway collections were filled with floral designs to suit everyone’s distinct needs.

Florals are one of many ways to celebrate this summer season. Pants, shoes, tops, skirts, dresses, bags, etc. are all lovin’ up on the floral trend. It’s as if this trend never went away.

All the biggest names in fashion, such as Balenciaga, Prada, Fendi, Dolce & Gabana, Miu Miu, and Gucci showed off their best florals on the runway, making it a staple piece for this spring and summer.

Additionally, Fendi even showed off the newest and best way to utilize floral as an accessory, debuting their White Floral Printed Micro Peekaboo Bag, pictured below. To say it was a hit is an understatement.

This is a trend that you can easily dress-up or down, red carpet or concrete, it does not matter. This is a versatile trend that allows you to get in touch with your girlier side. Do not get it wrong though, even the biggest tom-boys can find a floral piece that they can enjoy.

Don’t just be ready for the colorful May flowers in your garden this season, as this spring and summer of florals is just beginning to bloom!

My March Essentials

This season is full of changes and transitions, as we quickly, and hopefully smoothly, transition into a new season.

Recently, I’ve bought my fair share of essential articles of clothing to prep myself for the seasonal changes. My essentials, include things, such as leather jackets, velvet, jumpsuits, and sweaters galore.

Take a look below to see the current trends I am following for this upcoming season. I hope to incorporate great brands into my wardrobe, always taking into account the quality of the product. These have all been my essentials this month, and include pieces that I will be wearing or have already worn.

Neutral tone, and deep reds and greens, were my color palette this last shopping spree. Colors are a fun way to play with fashion forward trends, and as always, black and white are always in.

Take a sneak peek into my closet!

Protect Ya Neck!

Keep your neck warmer this season with turtlenecks and scarves. Dive into this season making a statement.

Turtlenecks have made a comeback from the 90s, manufactured and sold by fashion labels such as Gucci, Michael Khors, who has also made a line of turtlenecks for men, as well. For a similar look on a budget, H&M, Forever 21, and Tobi, also sell this versatile statement piece. This season’s message is practical and warm, as we transition into Spring. Deep hues, such as black and deep green, yellow, and red hues, are a perfect way to make your turtleneck the statement of your outfit. Whether you decide to dress it up or dress it down, this trend is a must-try.

Scarves are another seasonal statement piece for those looking to achieve a minimalistic look. Neutral hues and tones are a timeless way for you to incorporate the neck-warming trend. Gigi Hadid was seen at this year’s New York Fashion Week sporting this timeless neckwear.

Versatile Velvet

‘Tis the season for velvet! I am not just talking about just one shade of velvet, but all shades of velvet. Red, blue, green, black – you take your pick this season!

Not only is velvet an essential transitional piece for the spring, but you can make a statement with a new material.

It’s smooth and sophisticated feel will help glam up and spruce up your outfit this season, as it has become a statement piece for many celebrities, such as Vanessa Hudgens, Zoe Saldana, and Gigi Hadid, to name a few. This trend has even been spotted on runway shows, including Balmain, Marious Schwab, Christopher Kane, and Gucci to name a few.

Velvet has become such an essential this season that you can find it in every shade and in every style, including dresses, crop tops, jackets (as spotted on Gigi Hadid), pants, and skirts. Additionally, you can dress it down or dress it up, depending on the occasion.

This season velvet’s versatility has become a “must have,” so grab your essential, versatile velvet attire and sport it this spring.
