Chelsea Handler, thank you for being my life goals, source of laughter, source of inspiration, etc. for me! This lady is truly something else. She can make even the most silent giggle outloud. That is a powerful mechanism that few possess. In addition to her relatable, yet bold humor and powerful statements, she also is a dignified writer, releasing a few of her own personal, very comedic, hysterical novels. My personal favorite is Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, CHELSEA. And, yes this book was one of her many successes she has achieved in this recent decade.
Not going to lie, I fell out of touch with Chelsea after her days on E! Television Network. It’s not that I got sick of watching her hilarious rants about recent entertainment news, with her fellows comedian amigo; It was that Chuy left the show. Chuy made that show incredible, and I think Chelsea herself, felt like she needed to make a new, bold move.
Recently, I checked out her Netflix original series Chelsea, which I recommend to everyone. The comedic transitioned from reporting about entertainment news, and focused her comedy towards world news and controversial news, morals, ethics, broadening her audience. It is still a talk-host setting, however, it is much more professional. Not to mention her more updated short ‘do, and her very classic fashion taste that she displays in every countless episode. This girl can talk, and she can talk well. The show did so well the first season, it even got extended with Netflix for another season.
Handler made a bold move transitioning from a television network to an online streaming network, but did managed it successfully.
Chelsea not only educates, but makes me laugh out loud, literally. I am not only learning, but laughing. Learning, while laughing, is the best way to learn. Like, I would not have it any other way. Plus, her comedic transitional tidbits are incredibly hilarious and keep viewers, such as me, interested and excited for the next transitional piece.
Learning can be fun, and so can having opinions. This is what Chelsea Handler has taught me. It is important, and if you so desperately need to have fun while keeping up with worldly news, check out the weekly updated show.
The new content is hilarious, and she has even upgraded the individuals she has featured on her show. Her content is not only fresh, enlightening, and funny, but somehow relatable all at the same time. Some may call her comedic blasphemy, but I think she is brilliant, hilarious to say the least, and one of the most diverse comedics of our time.
Chelsea can be seen as a upgrade for Handler’s career, as it has always been skyrocketing recently.

What does therapy mean to you? To me, it means making and creating art.
The cheapest form of therapy is art therapy. Art therapy, includes crafting, coloring, drawing, painting, pottery, etc., and is one of the most beneficial hobbies you can pick up.
Inspiration is everywhere, if you just look hard enough. After looking hard enough, I discovered my vivacious enthusiasm for the art of coloring.
To this day, I own about 12 coloring books and am in the works of finishing a full coloring book. I find that through coloring I am calm, cool and collected; much cooler than a cucumber.
Coloring simply allows me to be mindful, and allows me to zone in on the art at hand, rather than the extra white noise happening all around me.
When I first began coloring, I found it extremely difficult to stay on task, and I also found myself frustrated by how long and intricate some of the coloring books were. Since then, I have noticed my senses heightened, my attention span lengthened, a better attention to details, and an increased awareness of mindfulness. It also has helped me quit some of my bad habits! After about six months of effortless coloring, I am finally proud of where I am at with my own new set of creative skills. Slowly, but surely, I found myself coloring quicker, much more intricately, and much more detailed. It was not an easy feat! In fact, picking up coloring as a hobby was one of the biggest challenges I faced this year. Now, I color every day and make it a goal to finish at least one of the mandalas that I color every day.
There’s also something about shading, choosing a color scheme, and the feeling of accomplishment after choosing something to color, that allows me to release any sort of pent up anxiety, stress, panic, etc.
Similarly, coloring allows individuals to connect back to their childhood, something that I have realized has helped me in many ways. Channeling your childhood, during your adult life, helps keep things light and fun. Coloring has become fun, because I remember how much I enjoyed coloring, and just making art in general, especially as a kid. Your childhood is something that can be taken away from you, or maybe you just got old, however, it’s never too late to uptake your childhood hobbies.
I believe that your childhood plays such an important role in your growth, biochemical makeup, standards, values, etc. This is where you learn how to be a human, how to be good at being a human, societal rules, etc. Most people always complain about how they want their childhood back and want to be younger, but do NOT let age stop you. No matter how old or young, understanding the joys of being a child is something one will never forget. This is because every day is an adventure when you are young. For some reason, incorporating one’s childhood into their day-to-day lives has served a higher purpose and allowed many adults to have a creative outlet, which is something society rarely offers.
Similarly, coloring has been said to have many benefits as an activity, including increased mindfulness, heightened senses, increased attention span, increased attention to detail, overall emotional well-being, increased attention to detail, decreased anxiety, utilization of both the right and the left brain, assists in memory retention, and the ability to channel creative energy. It has also been said to help mood swings.
Not only does coloring have the benefits listed above, but it is also said to heal and assist PTSD patients, ADD patients, ADHD patients, OCD patients, and any average human being. Generally, coloring serves benefits to anyone who partakes in the activity.
Adults should not feel embarrassed to try this new hobby out, as they have come out with coloring books specifically assigned for adults. Lately, you can find coloring books at local grocery stores, gift stores, retail stores, book stores, and even boutiques everywhere. Places, such as Target, Walmart, Walgreens, and Barnes & Noble, sell an assortment of coloring books.
If you are looking for a way to kill time, a new hobby, or just a way to release some creative energy, pick up a coloring book from your local store.
Prices typically range from $4.99 up to $30.99, depending on which retail outlet you decide to purchase your new hobby. The prices on supplies vary, depending on whether or not you are using different mediums, and whether or not you want quality products. Colored pencils, markers, gel pens, and crayons are fun utensils to utilize when coloring. Of course, if you are willing to spend the money, mediums, such as charcoal, acrylic paints, oil pastels, or chalk, may cost a little more than usual. To keep it under a budget, King Soopers, Target, Walmart, etc. have fun, cheap colored pencils that should service those who are in need.
Wondering where to begin? Simply buy yourself a coloring books and some gadgets. If you would rather be with company, try a wine and paint class. Wine and paint class includes people of age coming together and painting, while casually drinking. As if coloring could not be more fun! While these wine and paint classes are not free, it offers a way for adults to connect with other adults and create art. A form of therapy that is underrated and underappreciated.
Art soothes the heart, soul, and mind, as it has helped me slow down my thoughts, and take a break between my busy life.
In this fast-paced society, it is hard to take a minute out of your day to just color for a while, as it is even harder to even catch your breathe. We are all so busy doing whatever society tells us to do. Well, this is society telling you that coloring, and/or art therapy, is the best solution to all your stressors and your problems. It is cheap, easy, and lots of clean fun.
Finally, remember, it truly does NOT matter what your age is, just keep creating and art-ing!
“Hey! What’s going on out there?” I always seem to be thinking that every time I am home or even outside. There always seems to be SOMETHING happening around us, making it hard to pay attention to the things that actually matter.
What is white noise? You may ask. Well, to me, white noise is anything unnecessary that provides stimulation for individuals. Whether it be drama, or someone spreading malicious rumors, or overhearing someone talking about you behind their back, this is all just a distraction from school, work, or however you are choosing to spend your time.
People can also be white noise, as some individuals may not bring all that much good into your life. Individuals who bring drama, and unnecessary baggage, are included in the category of white noise.
How do you ignore though? I just rub the dirt off of my shoulders and fill my time with meaningful things, which allows me to simultaneously ignore all the meaningless things that will no longer serve a purpose for you in about a week.
Rumors are also what I consider white noise. The game of telephone is a game that people enjoy playing that results in the most epic failure and horrible rumors. The best way to handle horrible rumors, or white noise? Ignore it all and be productive. It almost helps to be so immersed with your life that no one else matters, other than yourself, OF COURSE.
If you are zoned into your own world, you have no time to pay attention to the meaningless bullshark that tends to arise all the time.
These distractions can be seen as challenges, or hard times, or simply confusing. The goals of distractions and white noise is to steer your focus from what really matters to things that will not make a difference in your life in about five years.
The first step to every issue is to address and acknowledge the problem. As you grow older, there becomes less and less time to acknowledge and internalize the white noise. You soon begin to realize how petty, small, and reckless this white noise is. If you are losing focus of your main focus or goal, this just is a simple reminder that you are paying attention to the irrelevant white noise surrounding you.
Test yourself and become aware of what is going on around you.You need to be aware of what is going on around you, in order to tune out the white noise. It is important that you understand that the outside forces, that you cannot control, should not control how you live your daily life. In fact, these outside forces should just be things you spend less than one millisecond thinking about.
At the end of the day, most of the meaningless “stuff” happening around you does not even concern you, so why care? My best advice is to ignore it and do not care about the people who do not mind their own business. White noise is easily avoidable once you are truly able to comprehend how much belittling is happening, rumors are being spread, bullying is continuing, people talking behind each other’s backs, etc. You should not be listening in the first place, let along caring about issues that do not concern you.
These are the people that we either call haters or bullies, those who succeed and thrive off of bringing you down. Do not let them get to you, EVER! No tear should be wasted over things that cannot be helped. Just let the haters hate, and the potatoes potate.
Most of the white noise is negative and not productive to be investing your precious time on. Move on and play your musical tunes as loud as ever. In a society focused on white noise, be the 1%, and do not contribute or become the white noise.
C’MON DO NOT BE THE WHITE NOISE!
Being alone is amazing sometimes, am I right? Sometimes, an excessive amount of alone time is good for the soul. At times, however, it can be detrimental when you forget about the people who are constantly surrounding you and neglect them.
PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE.
That’s final. People require the support of others, especially the nurturing side of other human beings, in order to find solace and inner peace.
We all pretend to hate people or constantly complain about not having enough friends. Additionally, we also find ourselves repetitively stating the fact that we do not have friends nor do we need them to survive.
Our bodies crave the attention of others and constantly are feeding off of the energies of others around us. In order to maintain a peaceful state of mind, and a healthy one at that, one must have a support system, or a proper group of friends.
We also need negative, toxic people in our lives to constantly remind ourselves that even the negative energies that we are exuding towards each other are necessary in order to live a purposeful life.
All human beings need one another not only to learn lessons, grow, mature, but also to maintain stability. Anything in excess, including being with friends, is detrimental to one’s health.
If you are a social butterfly, like I am, it is incredibly important to find time for yourself. However, I crave the energies of my friends and love being around others, constantly learning and finding the good in all people.
All people survive off of each other, and we need each other more than we think we need. It goes beyond getting test answers from each other, working as coworkers, and technological forms of communication.
The livelihood of human beings are dependent on others, so challenge yourself this month to meet new people, ask how their day is, and exude the utmost kindness to everyone, including strangers.
Ask them what their dreams are, what their passions are, where they are from, etc. It does not matter.People can be both a negative and a positive aspect of your life, however, they are fundamental and a necessity in order to live a life full of happiness, wonder, and love.
Let love in and let love out. People, even the ones who do not vocalize it or think about it, are relying on you more than you know. We all need each other, simple as that.
Whether you choose a crowd that is unfavorable or a favorable crowd, it is up to you. Protect yourself from the inevitable people, such as bullies, toxic humans, those who bring you down, however, show them happiness, love, and kindness.
Those who are unhappy are not the only ones needing extra love and kindness, sometimes human beings can be gifted in hiding their sadness, and lack of love, so naturally, show love and be the love you would like to see in the world. Or, as Mahatma Gandhi says, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
Without others guiding us or misleading us in different directions, life would be boring, meaningless, unstimulated, and impractical.
Do not forget how many people are counting on you EVER. Constantly remind yourself of this every morning, not everyone vocalizes their need for others and their need for love.
Support your own species! Join the movement in building a community filled with love, happiness, and joy.
Some days you feel lazy, challenged, a little unmotivated, angry, frustrated, bored, sad, and irate about this crazy world we live in. This is quite alright, actually.
What is your ultimate vice to cover up the guilt, anxiety, and pressures of modern day society? I have countless, and as the saying goes, old habits die hard. I used to cope with the abuse of a variety of illicit narcotics, but now have turned my unexerted, and unlimited energy towards other habits, such as blogging, hiking, coloring, shopping and working full-time.
It is not easy to turn away from your old, toxic habits, as they are cyclical parts of our day-to-day life. The simple act of going to Starbucks every morning and drinking a Venti Caramel Macchiato can be categorized as an old toxic coping mechanism, as none of us really should be drinking 3 shots of espresso in our coffee every day.
The key to success is maintaining composure, and a level-head, when you are stressed. Turning your unexerted stress towards positive habits, such as your health, new found hobbies, staying on top of your school work, and hanging out with positive influences can be a way to take the road less traveled.
You see, none of these old, toxic habits are serving you any good. Though it is alright to slip up a few times, as I have time-and-time again, recognizing, addressing, and acting upon being aware of your old habits is the key to success.
Some days I find myself bored, and unsatisfied with life. I am constantly doing the same thing every day, working full-time, coloring and shopping. I also attend therapy once a week to switch up my routine.
By taking the road less traveled on, and working hard to combat these habits, you will begin to lead a life of happiness and simplicity. All things that every human being craves. The key to understanding why you must take the road less traveled on is thinking about more than “the now.” You must learn to think long-term and think about your long-term goals before deciding to be impulsive and reckless. These small habitual toxic habits that you engage in are a big part of who you are as a person, but learning to persevere through the tough times, especially when you are overwhelmed, is a skill that cannot be taught or mastered. We all make mistakes sometimes.
The road less traveled on is much more difficult and time-consuming than one would hope, which is why it is the route that is traveled on much less. In the long run, however, the outcomes will be enormous, and will be self-fulfilling. The best feeling in the world is learning how much your hard work pays off, even through the thick and the thin. Not every day is easy, and not every day is fun, especially when you’re traveling in the opposite direction than others. Chances are very high that you will feel lost, uncomfortable, vulnerable, unstable, emotional, irate, sad, happy, relieved, etc.
This is all natural. Life is supposed to be challenging, so why not take up the challenge now? It is never too late to change. Today is a new day – another day for you to change.
Validation from others is the reason why others turn their cheek and travel in the most traveled on road. Sometimes we can be prone to take this route, however, take small steps towards change and rewards will come in surplus.
Appreciate the challenge and embrace the challenge. As Nike exclaims, “JUST DO IT!”And, as 2Chainz most famously stated, “I’m different, yeah, I’m different!” Embrace being different and taking a different route than everyone, because no one is the same and the route that they may decide to take is probably drastically different from yours.
Change your perspective ad shoot for the stars, loves. Aim high, work hard, and keep your expectations low. Do not rush the process, as it is a lifelong process. Adapt to your current situation, whatever it may take, and begin there. Make a list of things you wish to change about yourself, and then most importantly, make changes and take action! Actions always speak louder than words.
Lastly, do not do this for anyone other than yourself. After a while, doing the same shit for years becomes a bore. This is simply just a sign that you are growing and maturing. Figuring out what you like and do not like, standing up for yourself, and loving yourself are all things that become incredibly uncomfortable, as you will find yourself spending more and more time alone. Uncomfortable is good – it simply means you found some inspiration to grow, mature, and take action against your old habits.
Do not be so hard on yourself, but take up this challenge, and do things you do not normally do. Make yourself uncomfortable, in order to face the uncomfortability. Remember those who mind, do not matter.
